Tips

Follow these trendy hints to amass points galore and plenty of cool bonuses and secrets. These hints are only for the normal Grand Theft Auto missions, but some may work with addons.

General

To get into certain 'locked' compounds which are normally accessible only in missions, and through certain thin walls all that is needed is a large vehicle. Line up your tanker (or bus etc.) alongside the wall and then simply slide under it. You will go under the wall too! (tip submitted by Shodan).

To cross the railtrack safely, first blow up a large vehicle on it. Then slide under or jump over the vehicle. You will not be harmed!

To gain your own gouranga cult just slap up the orange gouranga monky monkey dudes untill they all run at you. They will then follow you! Have your own little cult, but don't get in a car or they'll run away from you.

You can steal and drive the trains in Liberty City with the back and forward keys. Simply enter a train and press the attack key!

To create permanent road blocks, use ambulances, fire engines, or 'parked' vehicles, as these are the ONLY vehicles which don't get towed away.

To stay alive, you must line yourself up with a car immediately behind you. When you are shot you wil leave a trail of blood and 'bounce' off the car. This applies to cops, proles, and, multiplayer characters. Cops will run away to their cars and not come out again after being wounded. Obviously, this trick is very difficult to pull off, but it is worth bearing in mind. nb - This will not work with Rocket Launchers or Flame Throwers!

Remember - in Counthashes, Penetrators and Squad Cars it is best to skid with the back of your car to kill proles. Don't try this too much in a Cossie or F19 or you'll break it!
